Proving the benefits

There should be no doubt about it. Intervention through the case management of rehabilitation will accelerate client recovery. Proclaim CARE analysis of cases between 2004 and 2006, indicates that this occurs in over 75% of cases that proceed.

We analyse the expected recovery with and without intervention. When closing the case we calculate the accelerated recovery, and the customer can calculate the financial benefit to the business as well as to the clients themselves.

The exact financial benefits will vary depending on the classification of injuries, but recovery can be accelerated by anything up to an average of 30 weeks, and more typically around 20 weeks per case.

We can provide other general and bespoke analysis from our database. Our chart below shows “total injury” averages, but figures can vary significantly between customers, largely because of differing types of injuries allocated by different customers and differing lead times between injury and appointment. Our more detailed analysis is available to all our customers upon request, which helps highlight areas for improvement in our processes. Above all it validates the benefits of rehabilitation case management for both customer and client.

In the charts below we show an analysis of average Case Manager hours spent and cost of resources according to injury type. This is a generalised survey, but gives a good indication of the resource requirements for a number of injury categories.
